Random Images from the PL Archives

To preface what has prompted me to post up some old stuff...I am dealing with trying to recover files off one of my internal hard drives which stopped working. The last couple days I have been going through the still functioning drive and making sure everything that I care about is backed up, and in some cases archived to dvd. In saving stuff I ended up sidetracked and browsed through some old files...

2005 - I posted this up on the site to showcase our "warehouse," some of our first shirts are in this shot. The actual storage of our product has not really advanced all that far from this point haha.

2005 - Not even a full year into doing Peg Leg I decided to get a booth at the Subdivision Trade Show that FBM was putting on out in Binghamton, NY. I was finishing up my first year of college, and didn't have much time to prepare so I put together a little display board, printed out the above info sheet, packed up our shirts, and brought along my computer to play some video edits on.

I had a real good time at the trade show and got to meet a lot of people including the guys at FBM, Crandall in particular who was really encouraging towards what I was doing with Peg Leg. Chad Shackelford happened to have a booth setup for SHOOK right near ours, and after checking out our edits asked if I would want to work on a Peg Leg section for a future issue. At that time I would be hard pressed to think of an opportunity I could have been more excited about. The SHOOK videos coming out then were definitely among my favorite. Leaving Subdivision I was motivated as hell to get out and film all summer for what would end up being our section in SHOOK's We Are Everywhere.

Jeff Martin 2006 - This shot is from our first of two really fun road trips to Florida Alex, Jeff and I took working on the Peg Leg video. Technically Jeff didn't go on the trip to Florida, we were picking his stranded self up from down there. When we showed up at this downledge some skateboarders were already sessioning it and had flashes setup and everything. They were totally fine with us riding it too, and the photographer fired off this photo of one of Jeff's feebles down the ledge.

Jake Roloff 2006 - This photo of Roloff is from right around the same time as Jeff's, and I think might have been shot by Richard Mungall. Later when I went and visited with Roloff we ended up filming at this spot and logged the opening line in the Peg Leg DVD.

Spring 2006 - People knew we were working on getting a DVD together and I was asked quite often when it would be out. I was glad people wanted to know, because that meant people were looking forward to it. Jeff had taken this photo without me being aware one day when we were out filming and I thought it was funny. I made this little graphic and posted it up on our myspace. When people ask when/if there will be a second Peg Leg DVD, my response honestly should be about the same "I haven't a clue."

2006 - Above is a 2 page catalog spread I threw together for Pariah Distribution that never came out. Following our SHOOK section that came out in late 2005, more people were becoming familiar with Peg Leg, including riders over in the UK. James Cox was running Pariah Distro, which handled a number of small independent clothing and parts companies like Retribution, Revolt, and Attila. He got in touch with me looking to bring Peg Leg over to the UK through Pariah.

I was real into the idea of being involved with Pariah, especially since I was a huge fan of the UK street scene at the time, with stuff like Voices and NSF3 coming out. Unfortunately shortly thereafter Pariah decided to merge with DFTU, which was a similar independent UK distro, which soon after ceased to exist as well.
