PL Year in Review 2009

2009 was a good year for Peg Leg, and it marked our 5th year in existence with many more to come. For a little year in review I will recap a few notable happenings for the PL crew.

Started the year with our 3rd road trip to Florida in the last 4 years, and 2010 will be kicking off with another one.

4 edits for digbmx.com, click on the above images to check out each one.

Early in the year Kenny was officially added to the FBM team and has had the opportunity to take a couple road trips and even venture all the way to Australia with them over the last few months. Check out the Australia trip in a dvd released by FBM and a Northeast roadtrip in Props 74. Psyched to see great things for Kenny, he has been a part of the crew from the very beginning and is one of my best friends.

Phil Bartlett Clips from nlbmxpp
Phil Barlett who was along for our roadtrip to Florida made his way back there in April with his good friend Paul Pike and got this edit together.

matt barchus from jon buckler
Matt Barchus got his Shook part out for the world to see after about a year of delays. He also came out with his first two solo web edits...one by fakie master with riding from mostly summer/fall and another by Buckler with footage dating from 07-09.

Blazin' Afternoonz! from Sixtiesrider

ODI SAN FRANCISCO TRIP from Sixtiesrider
Alex Raban also released Roll Wit Us and killed it in a couple of ODI edits. He also managed to make it to a couple of the First Rule street jams including smith to bar down Hubba Hideout at one in SF. Not to mention making his first trip to the East Coast and absolutely shutting it down for a week for our exclusive with DIG...Rapid Response with Alex Raban. Raban destroying it in 09 and I am visiting him early February to get things rolling for 2010.

Richard Mungall was made an official member of the crew following his DIG exclusive video. He is currently living in France and a few hours closer to 2010 than the rest of the crew...Rapid Response with Richard Mungall

We released 4 shirts back in the spring. I should be getting some new tees printed in the next couple months.

I got my first photos published in Ride UK and DIG, including a low profile featuring PL's Kenny Horton, an article with UK legend Mike Taylor, and a promo for our PL/DIG edits.

Peg Leg joined facebook.

I managed to keep on top of updating this news blog for the entire year, you are reading the 105th and final post of 2009.

New Shook Trailer - Barchus, Martin and Fakie

Trailer for the newest/last ever SHOOK which will be released online section by section. Barchus really worked hard on his part in this and I think it will show. Fakie also has a bunch of rad clips including the half cab to kinked rail thats featured in the trailer. Jeff ended up breaking his foot shortly after starting to collect clips for his part, but don't worry I am working on getting a new Jeff Martin edit together that will do his riding proper justice. This video was expected to come out around this time last year, having finished up filming back in late summer 2008. Better late than never. Still psyched we got the chance to put together a section way back in 2005 for SHOOK's We Are Everywhere.

Matt was down in Baltimore a few weekends ago filming with Garret Reynolds and the rest of the Deadline guys. Really looking forward to seeing the footage he gets together. Winter is definitely taken over the Northeast and now its time to try to plan some escapes to warmer destinations.

Mungall Photos + Officially on the Crew

After about 3 years of having Mungall involved with Peg Leg I have decided to make him officially part of the crew. This is a formality more than anything, but I just felt he deserved to be recognized for his contribution to Peg Leg the last couple years. I hit him up for some photos to go up on his crew page(up soon) and these 3 were among the shots he sent over. Thanks for being a part of things Rich, the Peg Leg crew is now 14 deep.

Note: 1st and 3rd Photos by Alex Von Bergen and the hop into the ditch was by Thomas Hirat with Mungall's point and shoot
